So here it is yet another long stint between blogs and for this you have my deepest apologies (although some of the blame can be attributed to Facebook and Twitter). I've been good though working hard these days. Still on the road and in the studio collaborating with some really great artist and it's been a tremendous honor to get that kind of love. For everyone thats been playing This Way so much you can't wait to hear more, well I promise that I will do my best to get crack'n on the new album asap!! I mean it I'm really ready for you to hear whats on my heart these days. I'm working it all out now so we can start recording top of the new year. Even with the challenges I'm facing with balancing home life and my career, I'm so grateful to have such an amazing team of people around me who love and support me and of course you guys who just get it! It might get a little redundant but I have to say it again… thank you. #thisway

So the last few days, weeks, hell months have been crazy busy to say the least! I'm currently blogging from a Starbucks in Nashville.. I love being out on the road, but even more than that, I love how well we're being received out here. It never gets old playing in a bar like the Boiler Room in Owensboro Kentucky, an acoustic set at White Water University in Wisconsin or back home playing Solly's or Howard University. It really makes my heart smile to know that no matter where we find ourselves we're always at home. I know I say it all the time in Blogs, Facebook and Twitter posts, but from the bottom of my heart thank you guys for the love! I have a long way to go and I know it's only going to get more hectic with trying to find a balance between career and family, sanity and peace when it comes to meeting the demands of this industry. I'm currently writing but as a few things are in the works right now (of which I'm really excited about), it may be at least another year or so before the next album. "This Way" is a tough act to follow… but as long as you guys continue to keep me "powered by love" then we'll not only continue to make believers out of doubters but make history as well :)

So over the last two years I would have to say that it's become almost embarrassingly obvious that well.. I'm a cornball!! However I'm not your typical pocket protector book worm nerdy cornball. Nah, I'm more of a get lost in something that would be considered by most really cheesy and corny. For instance I tend to say the corniest in-between song monologs, I know way to much about the origins of more than a few of Stan Lee's characters (fellow Cornball/Nerds know who Stan Lee is), and I still watch cartoons!! Most would still be with me up to this point, but lately I have now fallen completely in love with J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" audio book series and quite recently Stephanie Myer's "Twilight" series!! I might lose a few people on this but I love good well written fantasy and adventure stories and both of these writers are so detailed it's sane! So as it stands I'm really excited to to see the final movies from both series. I guess now I'll have to somehow try and maintain what little sexy I have left and be the coolest singer songwriter/cornball around too!! :)

It's always cool to sit for a moment and really take it all in.. On the one hand, I'm typing this from a tour bus leaving Chicago headed to St Louis and finally starting to feel like we're covering some real ground with the album and shows. While I know I have a little ways to go, it feels good! I think the hard work is starting to pay off! "An Lord knows we work hard for everything!!" I want to do another album, but this album still has a lot of miles to go (no tour bus pun intended). I'm just not ready to put This Way on the back burner only to pour my heart and soul into another album for the sake of doing it. I want the world or as many will listen to hear This Way. On the other hand, traveling around the country and playing in different cities gives you a chance to see first hand that all the cool stuff each city or little town is known for. Oh and I get LOVE every where! Thanks! All that said, It's just really dope to do what I do. I pray that no matter what level of fame I achieve or money I make, I'll never forget these days…

So here it is the end of another year and just like most year this time, I'm gearing up for the New Year. I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays as much as I am. I've been spending time with family, eating and closing out a few projects, oh yeah and eating! I think we're just about ready for the new year though! We have a college tour starting up in January, an acoustic EP of "This Way", a few songs to be released on some really talented artist and maybe a Christmas album for 2011! Yeah we've been busy! Everyone who new me before "This Way" says the same thing "Wow you're living your dream" … honestly, I am! I'm grateful to be able to do this. Thanks to everyone who supported me this year to my amazing team and family! Let's continue to make history!!!

I think it's safe to say that as an artist, I've truly ventured into some uncharted territory!! It's very challenging but I am having a lot fun though and I must say this year has been the coolest adventure ever! We've been playing everywhere (I mean everywhere!) and the crazy thing is, the response is always the same... love. Go figure!! Here lately there is this new pressure and almost borderline anxiety with trying to figure out a creative direction for my next album!!! I know, it's a little early for all that. I've already got a few songs written, but I'll wait and cross that bridge when I come to it. After all, "This Way" still has a lot of miles to go. Speaking of miles next week I'm headed to Nashville (really excited about this!) then I come right back and hit NY!! I'm sure I'll have some really cool pics and vids from both gigs. We're also about to post all the great pics we have collected over the months from the road. So I'm excited to say that levistephens.com is now a one stop shop for "This Way" and all the other really cool merchandise soon to come over the next few weeks!! We've been working really hard to get to this point. Special thanks to my amazing web design team Mike Logan & Eddie Henderson of GMG World Media and the good people over at Nimbit for their help with everything!! As you can see it's been a while since I've blogged, but we've just been really busy laying the ground work for this to be a successful album! By ground work I mean I've been traveling, playing almost every night, shaking hands and kissing babies and trying to get a copy of "This Way" in as many hands as possible. IT'S WORKING TOO!! I have been writing new music in-between, mapping out an acoustic EP of "This Way" and working with some other really amazing artist on their albums as well so you will be seeing/hearing a lot of me over the next year or so! I'm really looking forward to these next few months the possibilities do really seem to be endless… LS

Hey fam! It's been a minute since I posted my last blog so let me bring you up to speed on what's going on in my world… As you know we released "this way" in Jan and since then, this year has been amazing. I've played with and met some really dope artist/musicians, a radio and television interview and I've also been doing some traveling too. "This Way" is getting amazing reviews from online bloggers and other internet publications as well as all the those who bought it.(thank you) We'll also be offering the album and other cool merchandise right here on the site soon! (I'm excited about this) For those of you who keep up with my Tweets you know I've been playing pretty much non stop over the last few months and it's really been crazy hectic at times, but I can't get enough of it!! Everyday it's something new but the one constant… so much love! Thanks!

Hey guys! So I'm here listening to a little Donny Hathaway ("I Believe In Music") and I figured why not blog a little… It's been a crazy and busy last few weeks for me!  Full of ups and yes some downs. Though I'm guessing this is all just the journey of an" indie" artist. Some day I'll be able to share it all on Story Tellers! LOL! I'm always game for the grind though. It really does build character, grit and resolve like nothing else I've ever experienced. The only real downside if it counts as one is that every night I walk off a stage I'm so indebted to my band and my team for their sheer belief in me and this album. I mean these guys  really stand by me even when the immediate compensation is less than gratifying. I want so bad to see them recognized for their efforts on all accounts. I think in the end it's all of our belief in the music and what we're doing. It somehow feels bigger than any of us. Along with that is the fact that the biggest upside to all of this is how everyone responds to the music when they here it! It keeps us going. My father once told me "things of any real value rarely if ever fall into your lap! You have to work and get what you really want!!" I do believe in music and thats why I will never give up! 

I never realized how much weight and energy words can carry. I guess I never really put much thought into it until several conversations over a period time began to standout.  Now thinking back on those exchanges I noticed that whether it was extremely positive or equally negative the power of what was said still rings in my head and in turn effected in some way my outlook on any number of things!  So for my New Years Resolution, I'm not only going to think more positively, but I'm going to speak positive!
